![]() ![]() The Sherline is a VERY lightweight and small unit, and I have to take very light cuts, even when roughing something out, or the machine will bind. The Sherline has done what I have needed over the years, but I have always wanted a few things that it did not offer.įirst, and foremost, I wanted to be able to remove more material in less time. These are model car detail parts in 1/25th scale, not working model steam engines. The work I do does not teed to be to incredible tolerances, accuracy to the thousandth is fine. ![]() I have owned a small Sherline lathe for the last 7 years, and it has served me well for the cost and size of the unit. I have been a car modeler for about 10 years, and a lather owner for about 7. After doing a lot of searching on the internet, this seems like the best place to further my knowledge of the basic machine work that I do. Hi, I am new to the board, and this is my first post.
